Sri Lanka, Feb. 12 -- Four police constables attached to the Wadduwa Police Station have been arrested this afternoon (12) for allegedly assaulting a person who had been apprehended and later died after vomiting blood at home, following his release on police bail.

The arrests of the four constables were made by officers of the Panadura Divisional Crimes Investigation Division following investigations conducted under the directive of the Panadura SSP, the police said.

Accordingly, they are to be produced before the Panadura Magistrate's Court tomorrow (13).

In order to take disciplinary action against them, the four constables in question have also been interdicted, the Police Spokesman said.
