Manama, Sept. 15 -- A sudden spike in COVID-19 cases continues as 658 new cases were detected on Monday with an alarming number of 570 contacts related cases, the Ministry of Health confirms on its social media account.

Out of 11337 COVID-19 tests carried out on 14 September 2020, 658 new cases have been detected among 82 expatriate workers, 570 new cases are contacts of active cases, and 6 are travel related. There were 523 recoveries from the COVID-19, increasing total recoveries to 54204.

The total testing reaching 1264235 out of which 11337 were conducted on Monday alone with 6548 active cases out of which 6518 stable and 30 were in critical condition. The death tally reaches 213.
