MANAMA, Sept. 5 -- The Kingdom of Bahrain has been at the forefront in helping Syrian brethren since the refugee crisis began after the war started in 2011.

Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa Chairman, Board of Trustees, DERASAT, in his keynote address at the opening of the workshop on Thursday said Syrian crisis has become a dauting challenge for the global community as how to ensure humanitarian assistance, on one hand, and how to repatriate the over 13 million Syrian refugees.

Dr Shaikh Abdulla was speaking as the Bahrain Center for Strategic, International, and Energy Studies (DERASAT) organised a workshop to discuss the issue of the safe return of Syrian refugees.
