Tokyo, Sept. 16 -- The Vietnamese Embassy in Japan has hosted a community gathering to mark the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day, bringing together overseas Vietnamese in a warm and solemn atmosphere to honour the nation's history and express pride in the sacrifices of previous generations for independence and freedom.

Speaking at the September 14 event, Ambassador Pham Quang Hieu underlined the sacred significance of National Day and acknowledged the important contributions of overseas Vietnamese to national development.
