Washington D.C, June 18 -- Vietnam underlined the importance of upholding international law, particularly the 1982 UN Convention on the Law of the Sea (UNCLOS), to ensure peace and stability in the region, at the 15th annual East Sea conference hosted by the Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Washington on June 17. The hybrid event gathered former US officials, international experts, scholars and diplomats, including representatives from Vietnam, the US, Canada, Poland, Australia, India, China, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines.
