Hanoi, Aug. 19 -- Professor Furuta Motoo, a leading Japanese scholar of Vietnamese studies, has highlighted the remarkable success of the August Revolution in 1945 and its significance to the world.
In an interview with the Vietnam News Agency (VNA)'s resident correspondents in Japan on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - 2025) and the National Day (September 2, 1945 - 2025), Professor Furuta noted that just in a short time between Japan's surrender to the Allies on August 15, 1945 and the arrival of Allied forces in Vietnam, the revolutionary movement swiftly mobilised support of a large number of Vietnamese people.
