U.S. Senator Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) joined Senator Michael Bennet (D-Colo.), a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, and their colleagues in introducing the No Taxpayer Funds for Corporate Investment in Venezuelan Oil Act, which would prohibit the Trump administration from providing taxpayer reimbursements for oil companies investing in Venezuela's oil and gas sector. Senate Armed Services Committee Ranking Member Senator Jack Reed (D-R.I.), Senator Tim Kaine (D-Va.), Senator Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), Senator John Hickenlooper (D-Colo.), and Senator Peter Welch (D-Vt.) also co-sponsored the legislation.
