ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,303,592, issued on May 20, was assigned to Wyeth LLC (Madison, N.J.).

"Formulations for parenteral delivery of compounds and uses thereof" was invented by Syed M. Shah (Delray Beach, Fla.), Christian Ofslager (Newburgh, N.Y.), Mahdi B. Fawzi (Morristown, N.J.) and Nataliya Bazhina (Tappan, N.Y.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides formulations that achieve effective delivery of methylnaltrexone compositions. The provided formulations are useful for preventing, treating delaying, diminishing or reducing the severity of side effects resulting from use of analgesic opioids."
