ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,359,008, issued on July 15, was assigned to VIRGINIA TECH INTELLECTUAL PROPERTIES INC. (Blacksburg, Va.).

"Alternating copolymers of selected unsymmetrically substituted stilbenes and maleic anhydride or N-substituted maleimides" was invented by Sam Richard Turner (Blacksburg, Va.), Richard David Gandour (Blacksburg, Va.), Chanelle J. Brown (Blacksburg, Va.), Anna Steele (Blacksburg, Va.) and John B. Matson (Blacksburg, Va.).
