ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,372,531, issued on July 29, was assigned to Ventana Medical Systems Inc. (Tucson, Ariz.).

"Application of click chemistry for signal amplification in IHC and ISH assays" was invented by Brian D. Kelly (Tucson, Ariz.) and Nathan W. Polaske (Oracle, Ariz.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Applicants have developed an amplification system and methodology for IHC and ISH staining that utilizes "click chemistry" to covalently bind reporter molecules to tissue."

The patent was filed on Oct. 27, 2020, under Application No. 17/081,493.
