ALEXANDRIA, Va., April 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,270,806, issued on April 8, was assigned to University of Utah Research Foundation (Salt Lake City).
"Rapid assay for detection of SARS-CoV-2 antibodies" was invented by Hans Haecker (Salt Lake City) and Vanessa Redecke (Salt Lake City).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Described herein are diagnostic and control fusion protein reagents and methods for use thereof in simple rapid and inexpensive hemagglutinin assays for the detection of subject antibodies directed to the SARS-CoV-2 virus."
The patent was filed on July 12, 2022, under Application No. 17/862,666.
