ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,492,245, issued on Dec. 9, was assigned to UNIVERSITY OF SOUTH CAROLINA (Columbia, S.C.).
"Anti-CCL8 antibodies and treatment of lung injury by CCL8 inhibition" was invented by Hippokratis Kiaris (Irmo, S.C.), Ioulia Chatzistamou (Irmo, S.C.), Asieh Naderi (Columbia, S.C.) and Bernardo Chavez (Columbia, S.C.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods for treating lung injury by administration of an anti-CCL8 antibody are disclosed. Also disclosed are methods for evaluating lung therapies by use of an animal model of the genus Peromyscus."
The patent was filed on July 21, 2022, under Application No. 17/870,593.
