ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,296,044, issued on May 13, was assigned to University of Pittsburgh-Of the Commonwealth System of Higher Education (Pittsburgh).

"Gel for treating periocular and/or orbital pathologies and conditions" was invented by Morgan V. Fedorchak (Mars, Pa.), Jenny Yu (Pittsburgh) and Michael A. Washington (Pittsburgh).
