ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,400,658, issued on Aug. 26, was assigned to University of Pittsburgh-Of the Commonwealth System of Higher Education (Pittsburgh) and The Regents of the University of Colorado (Denver).

"System and method for automated observation and analysis of instructional discourse" was invented by Sean P. Kelly (Pittsburgh) and Sidney D'Mello (Boulder, Colo.).
