ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,358,867, issued on July 15, was assigned to University of North Florida Board of Trustees (Jacksonville, Fla.).

"Peptoid-based inhibitors of the protein arginine methyltransferase (PRMT) family" was invented by Bryan Knuckley (Jacksonville, Fla.), Corey P. Causey (Jacksonville, Fla.) and Fatima Khwaja Rehman (Jacksonville, Fla.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Novel peptoid compounds, compositions and methods of using the compounds and compositions to inhibit protein arginine methyltransferase (PRMT) and induce apoptosis in cancer cells are presented."

The patent was filed on April 23, 2024, under Application No. 18/643,330.
