ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,312,249, issued on May 27, was assigned to University of North Dakota (Fargo, N.D.).

"Generation of rare earth elements from organically-associated leach solutions" was invented by Nolan Theaker (Grand Forks, N.D.), Daniel Laudal (Grand Forks, N.D.) and Christine E. Lucky (Madison, Wis.).
