ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,312,393, issued on May 27, was assigned to University of Central Florida Research Foundation Inc. (Orlando, Fla.).
"Oncolytic viruses for sensitizing tumor cells to killing by natural killer cells" was invented by Griffith Parks (Orlando, Fla.) and Alicja Copik (Casselberry, Fla.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are engineered oncolytic viruses, related fusion proteins and polynucleotides encoding them, and methods for treating cancer using the engineered viruses."
The patent was filed on May 15, 2023, under Application No. 18/317,616.
