US Patent Issued to Universite Laval on Sept. 9 for "Erythrocyte-derived extracellular vesicles and proteins associated with such vesicles as biomarkers for Parkinson's disease" (Canadian Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,411,147, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to Universite Laval (Quebec, Canada).

"Erythrocyte-derived extracellular vesicles and proteins associated with such vesicles as biomarkers for Parkinson's disease" was invented by Francesca Cicchetti (Quebec, Canada) and Eric Boilard (Quebec, Canada).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present description relates to methods for clinically assessing Parkinson's disease in a subject using protein biomarkers of erythrocyte-derived extracellular vesicles (EEV)."
