ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,461,255, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to UNIVERSITA' DEGLI STUDI DI MILANO-BICOCCA (Milan) and GLASS TO POWER S.P.A. (Rovereto, Italy).
"Multi-component composite scintillator for detection of ionising radiation and neutrons" was invented by Sergio Brovelli (Milan), Mauro Fasoli (Milan), Luca Gironi (Milan), Marina Gandini (Milan) and Anna Vedda (Milan).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A sensitized composite scintillator which optionally interacts with ionizing radiation is provided having a vitreous or plastic matrix in which there are incorporated perovskite nanostructures which sensitize light emitters."
