US Patent Issued to United Therapeutics, MannKind on July 15 for "Prodrugs of treprostinil" (Virginia, Maryland, North Carolina, New York Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,357,599, issued on July 15, was assigned to United Therapeutics Corp. (Silver Spring, Md.) and MannKind Corp. (Westlake Village, Calif.).

"Prodrugs of treprostinil" was invented by Hitesh Batra (Herndon, Va.), Liang Guo (Vienna, Va.), Patrick Poisson (Chapel Hill, N.C.), Sri Harsha Tummala (Owings Mills, Md.) and Elizabeth Ann Harris (Lagrangeville, N.Y.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided are novel treprostinil based compounds, methods of treatment using the same, and their methods of making."

The patent was filed on Oct. 17, 2023, under Application No. 18/488,342.
