ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,393,916, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to TOYOTA MOTOR NORTH AMERICA INC. (Plano, Texas).
"Decommissioning transport batteries" was invented by Norman Lu (Fairview, Texas) and Maximilian Parness (Takoma Park, Md.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An example operation includes one or more of determining a route and type of elements to be transported by a transport and decommissioning one or more batteries on the transport based on the determining. The one or more batteries are configured to be detachably attached."
The patent was filed on March 18, 2021, under Application No. 17/205,810.
