ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,296,001, issued on May 13, was assigned to The Wistar Institute of Anatomy and Biology (Philadelphia).
"DNA vaccine against crimean-congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV)" was invented by Kar Muthumani (Cherry Hill, N.J.) and David Weiner (Merion, Pa.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Nucleic acid molecules and compositions comprising one or more nucleic acid sequences that encode a consensus Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus (CCHFV) antigens. Immunomodulatory methods and methods of inducing an immune response against CCHFV are disclosed. CCHFV glycoprotein immunogens are disclosed."
