ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 20 -- United States Patent no. 12,390,521, issued on Aug. 19, was assigned to The Wistar Institute of Anatomy and Biology (Philadelphia).

"Canine distemper vaccines and methods of treatment using the same" was invented by Sophia Reeder (Philadelphia), Emma Reuschel (Philadelphia) and David Weiner (Merion, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention relates to compositions and methods for treating and/or preventing Canine Distemper Virus (CDV) in mammals susceptible to CDV."
