US Patent Issued to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill on March 18 for "Perovskite solar cells with near-infrared sensitive layers" (North Carolina Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., March 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,256,588, issued on March 18, was assigned to The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Chapel Hill, N.C.).

"Perovskite solar cells with near-infrared sensitive layers" was invented by Jinsong Huang (Chapel Hill, N.C.), Yuze Lin (Chapel Hill, N.C.) and Shangshang Chen (Chapel Hill, N.C.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure is directed to perovskite-based solar cell device structures and compositions comprising one or more near infrared sensitive semiconducting materials.
