ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,442,048, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AS REPRESENTED BY THE SECRETARY OF AGRICULTURE (Washington).

"Assays for detecting multiple tick-borne pathogens" was invented by Adalberto A. Perez de Leon (Wake Forest, N.C.), Maria D. Esteve-Gasent (College Station, Texas), Pamela J. Ferro (Bryan, Texas) and Joseph J. Modarelli (Bluffton, Texas).
