ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,286,405, issued on April 29, was assigned to THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA, AS REPRESENTED BY THE SECRETARY, DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES (Bethesda, Md.).

"Scalable synthesis of dual-target inhibitor of cannabinoid-1 receptor and inducible nitric oxide synthase" was invented by Asaf Ragim Alimardanov (North Potomac, Md.) and Junfeng Huang (Woodstock, Md.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A process for the preparation of racemic and optically active (1E,NE)-N-(1-aminoethylidene)-3-(4-chlorophenyl)-4-phenyl-N'-((4-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl)sulfonyl)-4,5-dihydro-1H-pyrazole-1-carboximidamide in high enantiomerical purity is provided." ...
