ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,385,065, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia).

"Gene therapy for treating citrullenemia" was invented by James M. Wilson (Philadelphia), Jenny Agnes Sidrane (Phoenixville, Pa.) and Lili Wang (Phoenixville, Pa.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Compositions and regimens useful in treating type I citrullenemia are provided. The compositions include recombinant adeno-associated virus (rAAV) with a transthyretin enhancer and promoter driving expression of a human Argininosuccinate Synthase 1 (ASS1)."
