ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,297,319, issued on May 13, was assigned to THE TRUSTEES OF COLUMBIA UNIVERSITY IN THE CITY OF NEW YORK (New York).

"High performance organic pseudocapacitors" was invented by Colin Nuckolls (New York), Xavier Roy (New York), Jake Carter Russell (New York) and Samuel R. Peurifoy (New York).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present disclosure provides organic compounds having pseudocapacitive performance and methods of preparing said compounds. The organic compounds can include perylene diamine (PDI) subunits and hexaazatrinaphthylene (HATN) subunits."

The patent was filed on Sept. 28, 2022, under Application No. 17/954,445.
