ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,329,160, issued on June 17, was assigned to THE TEXAS A & M UNIVERSITY SYSTEM (College Station, Texas) and DEPARTMENT OF VETERANS AFFAIRS (Washington).

"Activated ferrate compositions" was invented by Virender Sharma (College Station, Texas) and Chetan Jinadatha (Washington).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Aqueous activated ferrate solutions, methods of their preparation, and methods of disinfecting organisms and oxidizing pollutants in water are provided."

The patent was filed on March 15, 2019, under Application No. 16/981,615.
