ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 25 -- United States Patent no. 12,478,292, issued on Nov. 25, was assigned to THE RESEARCH FOUNDATION FOR THE STATE UNIVERSITY OF NEW YORK (Albany, N.Y.).
"Devices, systems, and methods of monitoring arterial carbon dioxide" was invented by Christopher Page (Rye Brook, N.Y.) and Yosman Dhar (Jericho, N.Y.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Disclosed are devices and systems for monitoring and measuring arterial carbon dioxide, including those with an occlusive earpiece, a housing and a carbon dioxide sensor. A pressure sensor may also be provided. The devices and methods can monitor for altered carbon dioxide production and ventilator impairment and provide alerts."
