ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,440,554, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to The Regents of the University of California (Oakland, Calif.).

"Vaccination using herpesvirus genomes in nucleic acid form" was invented by Dennis Hartigan-O'Connor (Davis, Calif.), Peter Barry (Davis, Calif.), Jesse Deere (Davis, Calif.) and Joseph Dutra (Davis, Calif.).
