ALEXANDRIA, Va., Oct. 21 -- United States Patent no. 12,441,643, issued on Oct. 14, was assigned to The Regents of the University of California (Oakland, Calif.).

"Anaerobic-aerobic bioremediation of contaminated water" was invented by Shaily Mahendra (Santa Monica, Calif.) and Alexandra Polasko (Los Angeles).
