US Patent Issued to The Regents of the University of California on Nov. 4 for "Multi-stage DC-DC converter" (California Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,463,532, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to The Regents of the University of California (Oakland, Calif.).

"Multi-stage DC-DC converter" was invented by Casey Hardy (South Lake Tahoe, Calif.) and Hanh-Phuc Le (San Diego).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A multi-stage DC-DC power converter includes a first switched-capacitor stage driven by an input voltage. A second switched-capacitor stage is coupled to the first switched-capacitor by an inductor coupling current source.
