US Patent Issued to The Regents of the University of California on Nov. 4 for "Combination therapy for cancer" (California Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,458,630, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to The Regents of the University of California (Oakland, Calif.).

"Combination therapy for cancer" was invented by Michael Karin (La Jolla, Calif.) and Hua Su (La Jolla, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein are methods and compositions for treating cancer through a combination of an inhibitor of macropinocytosis upregulation and an autophagy inhibitor. Also provided are methods and compositions for inducing cell death of cancer cells, and transgenic animal models regarding same."
