ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 16 -- United States Patent no. 12,359,917, issued on July 15, was assigned to The Regents of the University of California (Oakland, Calif.).

"Precision gyroscope mode-matching insensitive to rate input" was invented by Bernhard E. Boser (Berkeley, Calif.) and Burak Eminoglu (Berkeley, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A precision gyroscope which provides mode matching which is insensitive to rate input in response to continuously monitoring the split between the resonances of the drive and sense modes.
