US Patent Issued to The Regents of the University of California on Aug. 12 for "Ultrafast laser welding of ceramics" (California Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,384,728, issued on Aug. 12, was assigned to The Regents of the University of California (Oakland, Calif.).

"Ultrafast laser welding of ceramics" was invented by Guillermo Aguilar-Mendoza (Corona, Calif.), Javier E. Garay (San Diego) and Elias Penilla (Upland, Calif.).

The present disclosure shows that transparent and diffuse ceramics can be successfully joined using lasers.
