ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,460,263, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Kowloon, Hong Kong).
"Genetic variants for diagnosis of Alzheimer's disease" was invented by Nancy Yuk-Yu Ip (Hong Kong), Kit Yu Fu (Hong Kong), Xiaopu Zhou (Chongqing, China), Yuanbing Jiang (Sichuan, China), Yu Chen (Hong Kong) and Fanny Chui Fun Ip (Hong Kong).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The present invention provides genetic markers associated with the Alzheimer's Disease (AD), diagnostic and treatment methods for AD, and kits for diagnosing AD."
The patent was filed on Aug. 25, 2020, under Application No. 17/639,065.
