ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,364,742, issued on July 22, was assigned to The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine Inc. (Bethesda, Md.).
"Antigen-specific T cells for inducing immune tolerance" was invented by David W. Scott (Bethesda, Md.), Yongchan Kim (Rockville, Md.) and Aihong Zhang (Ellicott City, Md.).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Described herein are agents and methods for targeting antigen-specific B cells using engineered T cells, such as regulatory T cells or cytotoxic T cells, or bi-specific antibodies. The agents and methods can be used to reduce undesirable immune responses."
