ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 19 -- United States Patent no. 12,331,317, issued on June 17, was assigned to THE CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF PHILADELPHIA (Philadelphia) and The Trustees of the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia).

"Compositions and methods for increasing megakaryocyte production" was invented by Christopher Thom (Media, Pa.), Benjamin Voight (Philadelphia) and Deborah French (Newark, Del.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Improved platelet producing megakaryocytes and methods of use thereof are disclosed."
