ALEXANDRIA, Va., Nov. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,463,200, issued on Nov. 4, was assigned to The Board of Trustees of the Leland Stanford Junior University (Stanford, Calif.).

"Membrane-free Zn/MnO 2 flow battery for large-scale energy storage" was invented by Guodong Li (Stanford, Calif.), Wei Chen (Stanford, Calif.) and Yi Cui (Stanford, Calif.).
