ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 6 -- United States Patent no. 12,378,146, issued on Aug. 5, was assigned to SYNCRUDE CANADA LTD. in trust for the owners of the Syncrude Project as such owners exist now and in the future (Calgary, Canada).

"Deposition of flocculated tailings" was invented by Barry Bara (Edmonton, Canada) and Randy Mikula (Edmonton, Canada).
