ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,312,309, issued on May 27, was assigned to SHIN-ETSU CHEMICAL CO LTD. (Tokyo).

"3-acyloxymethyl-3-butenal acetal compounds" was invented by Takeshi Kinsho (Niigata, Japan), Akihiro Baba (Niigata, Japan), Yusuke Nagae (Niigata, Japan) and Tomohiro Watanabe (Niigata, Japan).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided is a 3-acyloxymethyl-3-butenal acetal compound of General Formula (10):wherein R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, are each an alkyl group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms, or are bonded to each other to form a divalent alkylene group having 2 to 12 carbon atoms, and X1 is an acyloxy group having 1 to 6 carbon atoms."
