ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 23 -- United States Patent no. 12,503,870, issued on Dec. 23, was assigned to Saudi Arabian Oil Co. (Dhahran, Saudi Arabia).
"Restoring seawater canal divider walls" was invented by Emad Abu-Aisheh (Hoppers Crossings, Australia), Mahmoud A. Dweib (Arlington, Wash.) and Khalid M. Alnabulsi (Dammam, Saudi Arabia).
According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "An approach to restoring and protecting a canal divider wall includes positioning a precast panel over the wall in the channel with an inner cavity of the precast panel; installing a titanium bolt through the precast panel and the wall in the channel; and pumping a polymer grout through a bore defined in the cap."
