ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 10 -- United States Patent no. 12,409,635, issued on Sept. 9, was assigned to SAINT-GOBAIN GLASS FRANCE (Courbevoie, France).

"Laminated vehicle glazing, manufacture thereof and device with associated near-infrared vision system" was invented by Keihann Yavari (Margny-les-Compiegne, France) and Emmanuel Mimoun (Boulogne-Billancourt, France).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "A laminated glazing of a vehicle includes a first extra clear glass sheet (exterior glazing), a lamination interlayer and a second glass sheet (interior glazing) with a through-hole in this second sheet including a mineral piece."
