ALEXANDRIA, Va., Aug. 26 -- United States Patent no. 12,397,004, issued on Aug. 26, was assigned to Rush University Medical Center (Chicago).

"Nasal delivery of low-dose aspirin for the treatment of neurodegenerative and lysosomal storage diseases" was invented by Kalipada Pahan (Skokie, Ill.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein are methods for delivering acetylsalicylic acid via nasal delivery for the treatment of neurodegenerative and lysosomal storage disorders, such as Alzheimer's disease and Batten disease."

The patent was filed on Nov. 5, 2019, under Application No. 17/290,798.
