ALEXANDRIA, Va., June 12 -- United States Patent no. 12,297,483, issued on May 13, was assigned to Revvity Health Sciences Inc. (Waltham, Mass.) and University of Washington through its Center for Commercialization (Seattle).

"Compounds and methods relating to lysosomal storage disorders" was invented by Alexander Cherkassky (Wayland, Mass.), Jason Cournoyer (Jamaica Plain, Mass.) and Michael Gelb (Seattle).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided are molecules and methods for detecting enzymatic activity of various lysosomal storage enzymes. The molecules may be used as internal standards that may be combined with substrates that have improved solubility."
