ALEXANDRIA, Va., July 30 -- United States Patent no. 12,370,256, issued on July 29, was assigned to Regents of the University of Minnesota (Minneapolis).

"Activation of resident memory T cells for the treatment of cancer" was invented by David B. Masopust Jr. (Minneapolis) and Vaiva D. Vezys (Minneapolis).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Provided herein are improved methods of treating cancer in humans by activating resident memory T cells in tumors using one or more antigenic peptides."

The patent was filed on Aug. 3, 2018, under Application No. 16/635,205.
