US Patent Issued to PPG Industries Ohio on Feb. 10 for "Method of improving the corrosion resistance of a metal substrate" (Georgia, California, Pennsylvania Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 11 -- United States Patent no. 12,546,024, issued on Feb. 10, was assigned to PPG Industries Ohio Inc. (Cleveland).

"Method of improving the corrosion resistance of a metal substrate" was invented by Silvia Bezer (Suwanee, Ga.), Steven R. Zawacky (Cranberry Township, Pa.) and Egle Puodziukynaite (Ridgecrest, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "The invention provides an electrodepositable coating composition comprising a resinous phase dispersed in an aqueous medium, said resinous phase comprising: (1) an ungelled active hydrogen-containing, cationic salt group-containing resin; (2) an at least partially blocked polyisocyanate curing agent; and (3) a pigment component, ...
