ALEXANDRIA, Va., Dec. 9 -- United States Patent no. 12,492,294, issued on Dec. 9, was assigned to Poragen LLC (San Diego).

"Biocompatible porous materials and methods of manufacture and use" was invented by Nicholas J. Manesis (Escondido, Calif.) and Dylan B. Hollrigel (San Clemente, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Methods and materials used for production of constructs having a porous open or semi-open celled structure. Constructs may include a porous matrix as a base and a biocompatible conformal coating thereon."

The patent was filed on June 27, 2023, under Application No. 18/342,210.
