US Patent Issued to Pioneer Hi-Bred International on Sept. 16 for "Modified Agrobacterium strains and use thereof for plant transformation" (Iowa, California Inventors)

ALEXANDRIA, Va., Sept. 17 -- United States Patent no. 12,415,984, issued on Sept. 16, was assigned to Pioneer Hi-Bred International Inc. (Iowa).

"Modified Agrobacterium strains and use thereof for plant transformation" was invented by Sai Viswanath Narayana Annaluru (Grimes, Iowa) and Steven Henry Bass (Hillsborough, Calif.).

According to the abstract* released by the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office: "Modified Agrobacterium strains, methods of producing such modified Agrobacterium strains, and methods of using such modified Agrobacterium strains for producing transformed plants are disclosed herein."
